Adeyemi On His Aspirations To Rejoin The German National Team: ‘Inshallah’ – Bundesliga

Revitalized German forward Karim Adeyemi couldn’t hide his excitement when speaking to German broadcaster DAZN following another impressive performance last night.

When discussing his chances of returning to the German national team, the Munich native couldn’t help but use phrases tied to his heritage.

The “Karim Adeyemi” show returned in full swing last night as Borussia Dortmund defeated Bundesliga leaders 1. FC Heidenheim. After a standout performance for the Germany U21s during the international break, the 22-year-old from Munich nearly achieved a hat trick in back-to-back matches. Adeyemi is on a scoring spree, netting seven goals in his last three competitive games.

Adeyemi netted two BVB goals in the first half of last night’s victory. The four-times-capped German international had an excellent opportunity to score a third in the 59th minute but instead opted to generously try and set up lead striker Serhou Guirassy in his Dortmund debut. The 22-year-old briefly referenced the scene in his post-match interview with German broadcaster DAZN before crediting his recent U21 call-up for his success.

“I was hoping to score a third,” Adeyemi said, “There’s no need for me to deny it. I gained a lot of confidence from the U21s. For me it’s all about confidence. I took confidence from the U21s. Today, the coach invested trust in me and I paid it back.”

Adeyemi frequently discussed confidence, especially after his brace against the Israeli U21s indicated he could be on the verge of a major form boost. When asked about a potential return to the senior German national team, he opted for an Arabic expression that symbolizes hope for the future, aiming to add some variety to the repeated question.

“We say ‘Inshallah’ in our language,” Adeyemi noted, “That means hopefully, hopefully.”

Keïta refused Hatayspor loan out, Bremen boss confirms

In an interview with Bremen’s “Deichstube” fan site, SV Werder Bremen’s personnel chief Peter Niemeyer stated that conflicts regarding the termination of Naby Keïta’s contract caused his transfer to Hatayspor to fall through late yesterday.

Among the players rumored to be moving to Turkey on deadline day, Naby Keïta rejected a loan deal to Hatayspor Kulübü. SV Werder Bremen’s personnel chief Peter Niemeyer confirmed this when contacted by Bremen’s “Deichstube” fan site. The 29-year-old reportedly passed a medical examination in the Hanseatic City, but he chose not to continue under his current contract with the German club.

Keïta’s transfer means that SC Freiburg’s Roland Sallai was the only top-tier German player to leave the country on Turkey’s deadline day. The Breisgauer sold the Hungarian international to Galatasaray Istanbul for a reported €6 million. According to their head coaches, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe and FC Augsburg’s Ruben Vargas stayed with their Bundesliga teams. Niemeyer clarified that Bremen would not allow Keïta to exit his contract.

“The agreement was there, but then Naby decided against the change at the last moment,” Niemeyer told Deichstube, ‘If an agreement has been reached between all parties, the player must have been fundamentally willing to change beforehand. Naby’s situation with us remains unchanged. From our side, there is currently no plan to talk about terminating his contract.”

It now looks to be the case that Keïta will remain with Bremen at least through January. Niemeyer recently noted that the club would “wait until all transfer windows are closed before “reassessing” the Keïta situation. There remain 32 countries across the globe that can still accept transfers, but there is no longer an opportunity for Keïta to move to an established league.
