On Saturday, Barcelona delivered a stunning performance, thrashing Real Valladolid 7-0 at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. Raphinha shone with a hat-trick, while Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, Ferran Torres, and Dani Olmo also found the net, continuing the team’s impressive start to the La Liga season under new manager Hansi Flick.
Raphinha opened the scoring and later added two more goals in the second half, marking his first career hat-trick. Lewandowski doubled the lead four minutes after Raphinha’s opener, finding the net in the 20th minute. Kounde extended the advantage to three with a brilliant finish into the top corner during injury time of the first half.
Valladolid struggled further in the second half. Raphinha’s two additional goals and strikes from Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres sealed a comprehensive victory for the hosts. This standout performance will endear Raphinha to the Barcelona faithful, especially after a mixed start at the club.
Lamine Yamal was instrumental in the attack, contributing some assists and creating havoc alongside Lewandowski and Raphinha.
Valladolid, which beat Barcelona 3-1 in their last encounter in May, had no chance of repeating that success this time. Barcelona now tops the league table, while Valladolid sits in eighth place ahead of the weekend’s fixtures.
Next up, Barcelona will face Girona after the international break, while Valladolid will travel to Celta Vigo.
Following this stellar performance, questions arise about whether Barcelona’s front three can establish themselves as one of the most formidable in Europe. Each player contributed to the scoreline: Raphinha netted three goals, Lewandowski added one, and Yamal provided two assists.
Lewandowski now boasts four goals in as many La Liga matches, setting his sights on the Golden Boot this season despite the competition from Kylian Mbappe. Raphinha was sensational, scoring his first career hat-trick with three brilliant strikes and assisting Ferran Torres’ goal.
This trio perfectly combines pace, power, and technique. With Yamal’s youthful energy alongside Raphinha and Lewandowski’s experience, very few teams in Europe will be able to handle them at their best.
Raphinha opened the scoring and quickly added a brace in the second half to achieve his first career hat-trick. The former Leeds forward also assisted the seventh goal in a dazzling display. Valladolid’s defenders couldn’t cope with Raphinha’s speed, skill, and movement throughout the match.
