LALIGA EA SPORTS and LALIGA HYPERMOTION launch on August 15, bringing renewed passion, energy, and competitiveness to Spanish stadiums. This is an exhilarating period for LALIGA enthusiasts, especially considering that last season saw a record-breaking attendance of over 16 million spectators across LALIGA EA SPORTS and LALIGA HYPERMOTION venues.

LALIGA committed to fighting racism

As in previous seasons, LaLiga will begin by strongly reaffirming its dedication to combating racism. Throughout the first three matchdays of both LaLiga EA SPORTS and LaLiga HYPERMOTION, a series of initiatives under the LALIGA VS campaign will be implemented. These actions aim to spotlight and raise awareness about the critical importance of opposing racial discrimination.

The captains of all 42 LaLiga clubs will wear a distinctive LALIGA VS RACISM armband, and signage and posters will be displayed in stadiums to guide fans on reporting any instances of racism they may witness. Additionally, clubs will receive resources throughout the season to promote awareness among their supporters, including perimeter UTVs, video scoreboards, and the anti-racism anthem introduced last season.

For many seasons, La Liga has been actively combating hatred and discrimination in football, recognizing that its global fanbase offers a powerful platform for raising awareness. By leveraging this extensive reach, LaLiga aims to spotlight and address these critical issues from every possible angle.

Last season, La Liga strengthened its efforts against hatred and discrimination by launching LALIGA VS, a platform dedicated to eradicating intolerance within and beyond the football arena. This initiative supports the creation of a respectful and inclusive society across all sectors. In the 2023/24 season, La Liga and its clubs introduced 20 new initiatives to bolster the fight against racism. Notably, they organized a week-long anti-racism campaign in collaboration with EA SPORTS. Additionally, they launched MOOD, an independent tool designed to monitor and analyze social media conversations related to sports, enhancing visibility and raising awareness. LaLiga’s commitment to combating hatred is also evident in its legal pursuits, highlighted by a significant milestone in June, when the first conviction for racist abuse in a Spanish football stadium was secured, following a complaint initially filed by LaLiga.

The attraction of LALIGA’s competitiveness and passion

The new season of La Liga EA SPORTS is brimming with exciting storylines. Three of the world’s four highest-valued players—Jude Bellingham, Vini Jr., and Kylian Mbappé—are now part of La Liga EA SPORTS. Five of the top eight most valuable U23 players, including Bellingham, Lamine Yamal, Rodrygo, Eduardo Camavinga, and Gavi, compete in Spain’s premier division. This season also introduces four new coaches to La Liga EA SPORTS: Hansi Flick, Borja Jiménez, Manolo González, and Luis Carrión, each poised to make their mark on the league.

LaLiga HYPERMOTION, which welcomes back historic clubs, proved incredibly competitive and thrilling last season. The points gap between the champions and the team in last place was just 31, the smallest margin among the second tiers of major European leagues. For comparison, the English, French, Italian, and German second divisions had point differences of 70, 45, 50, and 41, respectively. Additionally, La Liga HYPERMOTION showcased the tightest goal difference, with the highest at +29 and the lowest at -21, underscoring its intense competition.

La Liga will unveil a new audiovisual piece to enhance fans’ anticipation for the upcoming season. This feature will be showcased at the beginning of each La Liga match, capturing the excitement, passion, and enthusiasm with which football supporters eagerly anticipate the start of the 2024/25 campaign.
