Manchester United Target Triple Swoop for Bayern Munich Stars Leroy Sane, Leon Goretzka, and Alphonso Davies
United Consider Three Potential Deals with Bayern Munich
The Sun reports that Manchester United is exploring the possibility of signing Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane, Leon Goretzka, and Alphonso Davies.
All three players could be on their way to the Premier League, with Sane possibly reuniting with another Manchester club.
The paper claims: “Sane, 28, could be available this winter after falling down the pecking order under Vincent Kompany.
“Having recovered from an injury that ruled him out the start of the season, the winger has played just 78 minutes across four games.
“And the German sees his contract expire at Bayern next summer.
“Along with Sane on United’s radar is left-back Davies, 23, who also sees his Bayern deal expire in 2025.
“As for Goretzka, 29, he has seen his minutes restricted this term, playing just once in six Bundesliga games.”
Manchester United may allow struggling winger Antony to leave the club this winter, with a loan deal serving as a precursor to a potential sale.
The Daily Mail reports that United seeks £40 million for the Brazilian winger following his challenges at Old Trafford.
The paper states: “Manchester United are open to letting their £86 million winger Antony go out on loan in January to help secure a permanent move for the Brazilian next summer.
“United are ready to call time on Antony’s career Old Trafford which has been a huge disappointment since he followed Erik ten Hag to England from Ajax in the summer of 2022, becoming the club’s second most expensive signing of all time.
“United sources wouldn’t be drawn on Antony’s future, but Confidential understands that the club would listen to offers of around £40m for the 24-year-old.
“Even though three wide players – Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood and Omari Forson – left Old Trafford in the summer, Antony is still fourth in the pecking order behind Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo.”
Manchester City may have three candidates in mind if they need to replace Pep Guardiola this summer.
With speculation about the Spaniard’s potential exit, the Mirror highlights Michel, Ruben Amorim, and Vincent Kompany as possible options.
The paper explains: “If Guardiola does go, City have several options and Michel has worked miracles at the Blues’ sister club, Girona. Since taking over in 2021, he has guided unheralded Girona to La Liga and into the Champions League.
“Ruben Amorim won his second Portuguese title with Sporting Lisbon last season and it seems only a matter of time before he comes to England, having rejected West Ham and interested Liverpool. Amorim’s hand could also be strengthened by Sporting’s director of football Hugo Viana succeeding Begiristain next summer.
“Then there is the City blueblood Vincent Kompany and he could push his claims by leading Bayern Munich to the Bundesliga or Champions League. City do have options if they have to replace the irreplaceable.”
The Telegraph is one of several British newspapers reporting that Thomas Tuchel will take over as England manager.
The German coach departed Bayern Munich in the summer and is expected to be announced as Gareth Southgate’s permanent replacement.
The paper reports: “Thomas Tuchel has agreed to become the new permanent England manager, with the Football Association preparing to confirm his appointment.”
“Talks between Tuchel and the FA advanced rapidly on Tuesday, with the German agreeing to become England’s third foreign manager after Sven-Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello.
“The move for Tuchel ends the uncertainty around Gareth Southgate’s full-time successor and ruled out Manchester United hijacking the FA’s interest in him. United spoke to Tuchel in the summer about the possibility of succeeding Erik ten Hag.
“Tuchel has always been amongst the favourites for the full-time England job and, along with Pep Guardiola, was one of a number of managers to have been sounded out since Southgate stepped down.”
