However, the transfer process took a complicated turn when a report from L’Equipe on Sunday revealed that the West London club had made a unique proposal. They suggested covering the additional costs associated with the deal and exploring the possibility of acquiring a minority stake in Sporting.

Ugarte has earned eight caps for Uruguay and participated in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
